Becoming a Buddhist

Anyone can come to the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha for refuge by merely repeating the request for it. Some people think you must have a teacher or mentor but not all think this way. Some people feel more comfortable with a mentor.

There are 5 precepts you must be willing to follow as a layman, 8 on special days. Novice monks (under 18) and follow 10 precepts. The monks have 227 to follow.
